We are looking for an inspirational leader who can lead a team of 25 to deliver World Class customer relationships and develop a high performing team! This Grocery Sales Director appointment is a substantial leadership role which needs an charismatic leader to motivate, coach and develop a total team of c25, 5 direct reports. A large focus of your time will be driving the development of the team, modelling behaviours, succession planning, talent management and development to shape a high performing team. Creating a culture that highlights the benefits of personal career development and a long-term pool of best-in-class functional expertise
As Grocery Sales Director you will drive the total customer agenda and take full strategic and operational day-to-day responsibility for the development and implementation of the sales strategy in the Grocery channel in the UK. Building customer centricity, you will work with Category & Marketing to develop the channel strategy and execution targets by customer all underpinned with shopper and category based strategic business planning. Externally you will have an outstanding network of senior customer contacts that will benefit the business in the delivery of both short term and long-term strategic objectives
We are looking for a proven Grocery Sales Director with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to listen and influence and leverage best practice both internally and externally. People focussed, with a clear track record in capability and leadership development. Skilled ability to work with people in a resourceful and inspiring manner, maximising effective working relationships with the ability to inspire trust and confidence. Collaborative in style and a team player with a sense of fun, dynamism and enthusiasm. A passion for excellence, innovation and delivery!
Experience wise we are looking for a Sales Director showcasing breadth and depth, so in reality you will already have held a Grocery Sales Director role and be recognised for connections within the Top 4 Grocery retailers. You must have a blue chip, big brand background where you have progressed through Sales, Category or SRM functions with many successes in both, people leadership and customer intimacy. You will feel at home operating within global organisations, navigating Global, Region and Local structures.
