Financial Controller - £60,000 to £70,000

 

I am currently looking for a Financial Controller to join a leading Field Sales business based in the home counties.

In this role the Financial Controller will lead and manage the group’s shares services team in providing financial and transactional accounting, payroll and pension support. The Financial Controller will also be expected to work closely with teams in all entities within the group as well as, internal and external clients and enhancing stakeholder relationships.

The successful Financial Controller will provide the financial accounting function for all group entities in the UK and Ireland. This will include:

  • Preparation of statutory accounts
  • Group accounting
  • Balance sheet reporting & reconciliations
  • VAT Returns
  • Managing all bank accounts & reconciliations
  • Accounts payable and payments
  • Accounts receivable and credit control
  • Working capital reporting
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Tax planning and advice

Supported by an experienced payroll manager, you will have responsibility for processes in excess of 3000 payroll, pension and expense claims per month, ensuring regulatory compliance and implementing best in class systems, controls and reporting.

Finally, the financial controller will liaise external bodies such as auditors, banks, HMRC and Government agencies.

This role has 3 direct reports including the shared services manager (Payroll & Pensions), Financial accounting manager and Cognos Manager as well as an indirect team of 15.

For the right candidate we are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • CIMA or ACCA Qualified
  • Extensive experience in Accounting & Finance
  • Experienced in Business Process improvement
  • Must have experience in a financial shared service environment, coordinating and controlling activity across several locations and employee levels
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal, written and presentation skills in communication with internal and external stakeholders, able to understand, empathize and communicate with all stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop the team to drive performance improvement and deliver objectives.
