Business Development Manager – Southern Territory

 

Our client is a renowned supplier of consumer goods, they are instantly becoming a household name within their prospective category. The business supply on a B2B basis to both retail and trade customers. They are part of a major international group, well backed and in rapid growth across the UK market with a very strong reputation. Due to having a fantastic culture, the business has a track record of attracting high calibre people in recent years from major FMCG organisations. It’s a small, close-knit team and they want people to join who are perhaps looking for a change in direction in their career.

An opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to join the existing sales team, reporting into the UK National Sales Manager.

 

Within this role you will manage your designated territory, working with a variety of B2B and retail customers on a day to day basis. It’s a unique category, one that requires someone with an entrepreneurial approach and the ability to quickly build relationships. You will inherit some existing customers whilst prospecting for new business and able to spot new opportunities. You will need to be strategic, tenacious and have the ability to work well autonomously. This person will source and arrange their own appointments with customers.

 

We are looking for someone who has a strong background in FMCG sales, product experience is not important and can be trained. You may currently be operating in food, drinks or non-food consumer goods. Candidates will need to at least have previous field sales experience, open on customer channel experience. Selling into B2B, wholesale or impulse would be beneficial but not essential. For example, you may currently be a territory sales manager, business development manager or even Key/National Account Manager looking for a change. It’s very much about the person being ambitious, determined, self-motivated and someone who works well as part of a team.

 

Location wise the role is covering North of London & surrounding area. Candidates will therefore need to be located in and around the M25 North corridor.
