Area Sales Manager – Non-food Consumer Goods – Southern Territory

 

Our client is a close-knit, family run business that manufacture a variety of homeware products. They are renowned for trend led designs and unique manufacturing processes. The business has recently been recognised in the trade for producing products that are innovative, unique and selling well in the market place. The business supplies a number of retail channels including grocery, department stores and high street. Culturally it’s a supportive, open environment with very strong company values. The business can demonstrate some great examples of employees showing longevity and progressing through the organisation.

A new role has been created for an Area Sales Manager to join the business covering a southern territory.

 

As Area Sales Manager you will inherit a portfolio of existing accounts across the territory. This person will be tasked with delivering sales growth across your designated area. Key customers will include independent retailers, buying groups, small department stores and garden centres for example. This customer channel was up 50% last year despite challenging market conditions, it offers a great opportunity to develop this area.

Part of the role will also be to spot new business opportunities and deliver further sales growth. You will need to work creatively in line with the strategic plans of the business. You may also offer support to the National Account team with national retailer store visits and attending trade shows. The Area Sales Manager role requires travel and may occasionally include an overnight stay to ensure the territory is well managed. The business can offer future progression for the right individual.

 

We are searching for candidates with some existing territory/field sales experience looking to further develop their career. It would be beneficial to have worked in a non-food category such as housewares, gift or a closely related product category. A passion for brands, design and the homewares sector would help. Experience of selling into the independent channel and related customers such as garden centres or buying groups would also be beneficial.

You will need to be enthusiastic, a great communicator with determination to grow the territory.
