From the launch of Best Of Both, to Seeds Sensations and more recently British Farmers Loaves – Hovis has a track record of meeting consumers needs in a category which is as fascinating as it can be challenging.

Hovis is a big business. We deliver daily to thousands of supermarkets and independent stores, baking 16 million loaves and 6 million pack of rolls and snacks every week. And Hovis is part of an even bigger British food company – Premier Foods is our parent, and home to other category leading brands such as Sharwoods, Mr Kipling, Loyd Grossman and Ambrosia

Our ambition and plans now need two Category Managers to help us develop our business with the UK’s major multiples:
Role:
Reporting directly to the Hovis Category Controller
Lead range and category reviews – align recommendations to category strategy
Develop a category relationship with the buyer and other key customer contacts
Aim to be the first point of contact for the customer as category expert
Work with the retailer merchandising teams on the execution of range reviews
Work on setting NPD & Distribution targets and tracking
Ongoing understanding of Customer Performance, Trends and Opportunities
Use key customer data sources (eg. Dunnhumby, Aimia, etc).
To be successful you will be both highly analytical and persuasively insightful in order to influence the category agenda. A forward thinking, flexible attitude is vital and you must have the drive and resilience to succeed. You will have proven category management experience working within a branded FMCG business and have a clear understanding of the major grocery multiple accounts. The role will involve cross functional team working therefore the ability to successfully develop and maintain relationships by adopting a collaborative working style is crucial. Creating a clear category argument is your primary objective.

You will be proven in the FMCG sector, ideally within category management. You will have progressed within an FMCG business, preferably with classical training. You will have a depth of understanding in category management and an ability to apply this into winning commercial strategies.
